Initially trained and certified in First Aid at age 15 and was authorized as a First Aid Instructor for the American Red Cross in 1967

Implemented a county-wide CPR training program in Westchester County, NY in 1973 which resulted in an annual training of approximately 20,000 persons per year by 1980
