Expert No 1590 was recruited by the owner of Oasis to open another hospice in Leeds, Alabama to become the corporate hub for the company. Expert Witness No. 1590 is responsible for any and all aspects of the hospice operations.

2005- 2006 Healthspring of Alabama, Birmingham, Al
Expert Witness No. 1590 coordinated the completion of the development and implementation of the life enhancement program at Healthspring of Alabama. This included promotion to local hospitals and healthspring employees as needed. Expert Witness No. 1590 performed intensive case management of and for health plan members with life limiting illnesses. This included utilization management skills, advanced care planning and other facets to assist the member as they progress through their disease process. This helped the member and saved costs over time.

2005 Utilization Review Nurse Birmingham, Al Utilization Review Nurse
Chart review for National Insurance companies to ensure proper utilization of health care system including utilization reviews, PIR audits, etc. (project work)

2002- 2005 Southern Care Hospice Inc Birmingham, Al Clinical Director Birmingham Office Supervised, oriented, trained and assigned all employees giving direct patient care and also functioned as Care Team Leader. The Clinical Director is responsible for management of the hospice program in matters of overall operation at the local office level. Conducted focused medical review audits on a daily basis. Expert Witness No. 1590 began work with this company on August 19, 2002. She averaged caseload of 16-18 patients and was also responsible for supervising the home health aids for these patients as well as taking call for all the patients on the team. The average census at this time for her team was approximately 50-75 patients.

August of 2003, was promoted to the position of Lead Case Manager. In this position she was responsible for scheduling of home health aides, assisting the Clinical Director, chart auditing, and various other duties.

2002 Ginsburg Dermatology Birmingham, Al Nurse Administrator Expert Witness No. 1590 only held this position for 6 months; however, she was able to obtain their CLIA certification for the skin cancer surgery lab. Her other duties included staffing, surgery scheduling, first assist in cancer surgery, education, and supervision of all office staff.

1987- 2002 UAB Hospital Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Birmingham, Al

During her many years in the CICU at UAB, Expert Witness No. 1590 was fortunate to function in several different roles. She began her career there as a staff nurse caring for patients from birth to geriatric. She cared for open-heart patients including heart transplants, lung transplants, heart-lung transplants, babies with congenital heart defects, and many more. After two years in the Unit she was promoted to the position of Nurse Clinician which she continued in for the next 6 years. This position functioned much like a chief resident would in a typical Intensive Care. This position was unique to CICU and developed by Dr John Kirklin who she had the honor to work with for his final five years of practice. I have also worked one on one with Dr Albert Pacifico, Dr James K. Kirklin, Dr David McGiffin, Dr William Holman, and Dr George Zorn. Expert Witness No. 1589 was also involved in the quality assurance committee in the unit as well as the education of the new staff in regards to caring for neonatal and pediatric patients. From time to time during this time she also worked in the Critical Care Float Pool at both UAB and Carraway Hospitals.
